Working Holidays Abroad

Would you like a job in a different country? Working holidays abroad enable many people to see the world.

Accommodation can be free or part of your pay.There are thousands of jobs available offering proper pay or accommodation and meals as exchange for volunteering.

You might work in an English Pub and have a room upstairs as part of your employment; become a nanny and live in or help in an African village while living in a grass hut.

We worked on an island in the very north of Australia for 15 months. It was a great experience and the memories and all the things we learnt will stay with us forever. Check out our blog about working in an Aboriginal community

Lots of people; both young and old are traveling while teaching English or helping in remote third world villages. If you have special trades or professional knowledge there will be people you can help.

One very popular profession is nursing. I have many friends who have traveled the world while nursing. So I have a page for Nursing in Australia Recently we hosted a French couple who had been helping improve rice yields on tiny islands near Madagascar! She was a Hydrology expert and he was an organic farming expert. This couple were also WWOOFing (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) around Australia.

Some organizations ask you to pay towards your board and others are happy to provide accommodation. Some even pay for your air flights too.

Wouldn't this be one of the most rewarding times in your life? When I have spent time in a remote Indigenous Australian community the cultural exchange and rewards are lifelong.

Imagine teaching English to an enthusiastic group of students in another country for a few hours a day and being able to travel around for the rest of the week.

Some countries require you to have formal qualifications so you may need to study for a few weeks first. Some language schools even find you jobs overseas.
