House Swap Review

Suzanne and her husband have done much traveling with various types of free accommodation, but now they have a family she finds House Swapping the only way to go. There could be no better way to holiday than house swapping for us. By Suzanne, Melbourne, Australia Firstly, we feel it is an extremely comfortable stay that a hotel could never match. As a small family, our daughter is currently 19 months old, staying in a lovely home allows us to enjoy plenty of space for her to run around, a room for herself for her midday sleep as well as comfortable spaces for us to relax in while we wait around for her! A full kitchen means we can self cater all her meals. This leads to the second major benefit: low cost holidays. We estimated our recent swap in the Margaret River region of Western Australia, where my parents joins us, saved us collectively approximately $5000 AUD. With free accommodation and the ability to fully self cater house swapping truly is a budget travel experience. Some swappers even invite us to eat from their garden. Thirdly, but by no means least, there is the richer benefit of living like a local and making friends. Many contacts and relationships have been formed for us from an initial swap, or even from swaps my parents have done where they felt we would enjoy getting to know each other. We have done seven swaps, swapping at the same time or non-simultaneously. We have more swaps lined up for the rest of 2011 and into early 2012. We can’t wait!"
